I always wanted to be a musician since I was a kid trying to follow any song from the radio on the old family "pleyel",but my parents had different plans for my future! I'd have to graduate from college and get a "real job". I did graduate from college in scientific studies in Poitiers France (baccalaureat du second degré série"C" maths and physics )in 1981,I was 19 years old. After a temporary job as a computer programmer and salesman i decided to dedicate my life to the music or I would say to the "musics" and started to practice every day my favorite instrument : Bass. Because of my very good musical hear and rhythm skills I started quickly to play small gigs with many starting bands performing in town and all around the west coast of France;mainly rhythm'n blues, blues, rock,Latin, pop covers and most of the time, the bands relied on me for transcribing the music from records by hear. My musical hear is definitely my number one skill but I think that my curiosity about different cultures and music is responsible for my profile as a very versatile musician. In 1985,i started playing a lot with west Africa musicians and got to learn some of the secrets of rhythms that had already spread through many occidental musics like samba,Afro Cuban music, rock or swing;the list is long enough to tease my curiosity for my entire life! After various experiences mixing rock,Afro,Latin and all kinds of fusions in Western Europe,i decided to move to California USA in 1989,precisely San Francisco. This was when I started playing jazz standards from the real books and got my first acoustic double bass. I started reading music and writing some charts and voices too;i think that I finally was becoming a real professional musician! Ever since,I've traveled back and forth from Paris to San Francisco only last year I came to Thailand to visit my older brother and was totally charmed when I got to hear a singer somewhere between Ella Fitzgerald,Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner but with some "Thai spicy spirit". I fell in love immediately! Despite the fact that she didn't seem to pay attention,we kept playing together more and more often:"The nearness of you".
